Acetaminophen is very important to many humans. It is the top ingredient in Tylenol and many other over-the-counter pain-relievers. It is especially important to kids and people with ulcers who cannot take aspirin. Essentially acetaminophen does the same thing as aspirin but it safe for those people to take. In the mid 1950's many risks and dangers were becoming apparent in aspirin and scientists and physicians were working very hard to find an alternative that would not be detrimental to the health of their patients.

Even a small overdose of acetaminophen can be fatal. Some other risks of the drug can be nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, loss of appetite, jaundice, and dark urine. However, these side-effects are rare if the correct dosage is used. Acetaminophen is considered on of the safest drugs when used correctly.
